Kainkaryam
Veda Siras started its Kainkaryam activities during the financial year 2019-20. The objective is to provide support to Vedapatashalas and Goshalas. The selected Vedapatashalas every month were provided with provisions based on their requirements and feed stock for the Goshalas. The voluntary contribution from each member was initially fixed at Rs.100/- every month and this money is used to procure provisions and feed for the Goshalas.
The members visit the Patasahala chosen for the month and personally hand over the provisions and also interact with Vidyarthees and Adhyapakas. So far our group has done Kainkaryam to 13 Patashala/Goshala in the last year.

With the widening of the ambit of beneficiaries to include Vedic Pandits in distress, seeking medical assistance, financial assistance for conduct of marriage, tuition fees and books for economically weaker students etc, the limit on the quantum of contribution per month by the Members of the group and well wishers has been relaxed. This has enabled in serving more beneficiaries each month.

The aid to the beneficiaries is generally done only through "Direct Bank Transfer".

The statement showing the contributions received and the expenditure incurred during the month is circulated among the members to maintain transparency in the process.
Covid Kainkaryam
Since March'2020 there has been a complete lock down in spells and many of the Veda Patashalas and Temples were closed due to the restrictions imposed. In view of this, special Kainkaryam drive was started to help the General Public from the month of March 2020. This has been continued throughout the year and during the 2nd wave of Covid-19 till date.

The Lock down restrictions have greatly affected the life of Vaidheekas and Temple workers as the temples are closed and rituals /functions could not be held. It was therefore proposed to support them with dry provisions for local Vaidheekas or cash transfer, if the identified persons are residing far away.
A bag of dry provisions containing 10 kg rice, oil,pulses etc were provided to 33 Vaideekas/Gurukkals to a value of Rs.36795/- for provisions alone. The Provision bags were handed over by the Guruji and Murali mama of Guha Apartments to the selected individuals in person. Cash assistance to identified Persons residing at out-station and faraway locations was extended to the tune of Rs26000/- during the month of May 2020.
For the month of June 2020, it was decided to provide Rs.2500/- cash assistance instead of assembling the beneficiaries for issue of grocery items as it was not advisable due to the virus spread. A total of 13 beneficiaries were given Rs.2500/- each totalling to a sum of Rs 32500/-.
